What Live Exchange Converter Does and Why It Matters
Live Exchange Converter converts between TRY, USD, and EUR. When provider data is available, NovaTools' live-data endpoint reads the Turkish Central Bank (TCMB) daily XML feed and returns the relevant reference rates together with a provider label and fetch time.
TCMB reference rates are useful benchmarks, but they are not necessarily the exact rate a bank, exchange office, or card network will apply to a real transaction because those providers typically add their own buy/sell spread or fees. The result therefore shows a reference conversion, not a guaranteed transaction quote.
How to Use Live Exchange Converter
- Select the currency pair (TRY↔USD, TRY↔EUR, or USD↔EUR).
- Enter the amount you want to convert.
- Run the conversion and check the converted amount, reference rate, provider label, and displayed update time.
What to Know
- For a successful provider response, the exchange endpoint reads TCMB's current daily XML feed and labels the provider as
tcmb.gov.tr. - A rate already fetched by the browser can be reused only while it is still inside the configured cache lifetime.
- If neither provider data nor a valid cached numeric rate is available, the calculator stops and reports that market data is unavailable; it does not substitute a hard-coded rate.
- Banks and exchange offices apply their own spread or fees, so a real transaction can differ from this reference conversion.
Privacy and Network Boundary
The amount you enter is used locally for the multiplication that produces the result. The browser requests rate data through NovaTools' /api/live-data endpoint using the selected base currency; the entered amount is not part of that rate request.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the exact rate my bank will give me?
No. A successful response is based on TCMB reference-rate data. Banks, card networks, and exchange offices can apply different buy/sell rates, fees, or margins.
What happens if the live rate source is unavailable?
The tool can reuse a real browser-cached rate only while it is inside its cache lifetime. If there is no valid provider or cached rate, the conversion is not calculated and an unavailable state is shown.
Is this a continuously ticking market quote?
No. TCMB publishes reference-rate data on its own schedule, and NovaTools also uses caching around the live-data request. For time-sensitive transactions, confirm the offered rate directly with your bank or exchange provider.
